Sourav Sengupta is an expert in general child and adolescent mental health topics, such as stress, sleep issues, trauma and responding to traumatic events.

Sengupta can speak to media about these issues, as well as parenting and family health and relationship topics. He can also discuss children’s and adolescents’ use of technology, encompassing areas such as screen time, social media, tele-education and tele-health.

In Western New York, Sengupta has been instrumental in finding ways to meet the psychiatric needs of children by working closely with primary care physicians and schools in the region. Among other areas, he has expertise in children and adolescents dealing with anxiety, depression, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, pediatric bipolar disorder, childhood-onset schizophrenia, developmental disabilities and addiction.

More generally, Sengupta can discuss the stigma that often affects people seeking mental health treatment, and how to mitigate it. His interests also include stress and wellness issues for physicians and other health professionals.
